Shore A Rubber Hardness Tester
Measures the indentation hardness of rubbers and soft elastomers.
Overview
The Shore A hardness tester is used to measure the indentation hardness of relatively soft materials, particularly rubber and elastomers. A calibrated indenter is pressed against the material under specified conditions, and the hardness value is read from the instrument’s dial.
Applications
- Measuring the hardness of rubber and elastomeric materials
- Quality control of rubber seals, gaskets and moulded components
- Comparing hardness consistency between material batches
- Evaluating material suitability for industrial applications
